Overview

This PASPORT Water Quality Colorimeter is designed specifically to support chemical analysis of water samples using PASCO’s new ezSample Snap Vial water quality test kits. Quantitative measurement of many water quality parameters is now easy as 1-2-3. ezSample Snap Vials contain a pre-formulated reagent in a vacuum sealed ampoule. The tip of the ampoule is scored so students simply place the ampoule in their sample, snap the tip, and the ampoule fills instantly, mixing with the color-forming reagent. The Water Quality Colorimeter analyzes the solution and reports concentration.

This Water Quality Colorimeter is complete with built-in calibration curves to determine the concentration of ions in the solution for the ions listed in the specifications. Simple to use in the field and students avoid direct contact with chemicals!

How It Works

The colorimeter accurately measures the absorbance by projecting light through the ampoule and measuring the intensity of transmitted light.  It uses Beer’s Law and built-in calibration curves to calculate the ion concentration.
