Now students can raise their own baby praying mantises. Kit includes everything needed for a class of 30 students, including 2 Chinese praying mantis egg cases; fruit fly culture with wingless fruit flies (for feeding baby mantises); vials with foam plugs (to house the mantises until they reach 1-1/2 to 2″); cotton swabs (to provide water); reproducible student sheets; and a teacher’s manual with complete instructions, hands-on science activities, and directions for building a terrarium for larger mantids.
This kit contains a voucher to request 2 Chinese praying mantis egg cases and fruit fly culture at a later date for your convenience.
Note: Mantis cases are available January to June only and cannot be released in CT.
