Description

Product Details
Rana forreri. Preserved frogs are excellent specimens for studying vertebrate anatomy and introducing students to body systems. These specimens are economical compared to larger vertebrates, such as preserved pigs and cats. They are also convenient and simple to use because:

  • They are easy to dissect and store for future use.
  • There is no need for a scalpel—all cuts can be made with dissecting scissors!
  • Their small size makes them easy for students to handle and manage.
  • All fluids are easily contained on a small tray.
  • They are readily available.

Carosafe®
Carosafe® preservative and holding solution for biological specimens contains no formaldehyde and is not a tissue fixative. Most Carosafe® specimens were first preserved with a formalin solution and then washed before placement in Carosafe®. Specimens are held in Carosafe® prior to shipment, producing formalin-preserved specimens that, when dissected, minimize formaldehyde exposure.

Gender Ratios
External sexual dimorphism is not clearly discernible in frogs or bullfrogs. Therefore, sex cannot be determined without internal examination and, although we make our best effort, we cannot guarantee sex ratios with 100% accuracy.
