A unit of study designed to give students a hands-on approach to learning about the rock cycle. In this kit, students learn about the 3 major types of rock (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic) and about where and how these types of rock are formed. Students also learn about the various characteristics of each of the rock types and how to classify the rocks based on them. Includes activity book with 16 lessons; a small loupe magnifier; 12 specimens including igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks; and a compartmented, plastic storage case.
