  VOCO-CPX

Wearable Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Equipment

Your True Measure of Fitness

What is VOCO-CPX

VOCO-CPX is a wearable device that monitoring metabolic rate. VOCO-CPX measure O2 uptake only for continuous measurements of VO2 and monitor both O2 consumption and CO2 production rates to provide a wealth of information about cardiovascular fitness. All VOCO devices include a heart rate monitor as well as a spirometer for measuring breath flow and volume. The spirometer can be used independently for PFT (pulmonary function testing) to monitor lung health.

Why VOCO

Measure your VO2/CO2

VOCO devices provide accurate and reliable measurements of your oxygen and energy consumption during rest and exercise. If you want to know how fit you really are, VOCO provides the answer.

Determine your “Metabolic Age”

Obviously, you know your real age but how does your Metabolic Age compare? With VOCO you can compare your performance metrics with the norms of other age groups to gauge your fitness and set your goals.

Physical & Nutritional Guidance

Having data is great, but knowing what to do with it is even better. VOCO devices measures calorific burn, energy consumption and physiological responses, so you get the guidance you need for more efficient health planning.

Easy, Accurate and Affordable

Simple to use and easy to understand, VOCO products provide you with the data you need at sensible prices.

Light and comfortable, VOCO devices can be used outdoors for any exercise-related activity without impeding normal movement.

Who uses VOCO?

Kinesiologists

VOCO-CPX metabolic measurement systems have been validated against gold-standard metabolic calibrators and medical-grade metabolic carts. VOCO devices show equivalent or more accurate data than systems costing far more.

VOCO devices are invaluable tools for research, teaching and recreational fitness testing.

Teachers

The VOCO-CPX is a cost-effective tool for students to learn the principles of human energy metabolism.

Students can identify their own place on the fitness continuum while exploring interesting experimental protocols that can be completed easily within a one-hour laboratory period.

Gyms and Sports Clubs

Gym members want more from their fitness facilities than body shaping – they want to know their fitness status and how to improve it.

By providing a better understanding of VO2, VCO2 and RQ, gyms can now evolve into wellness centers whose members see real and meaningful changes with scientifically personalized training programs.

Athletes

From track stars to football players to rock climbers, it’s important to understand your health and fitness data.

How do you compare with your team-mates and competitors? How can you improve your training plan? VOCO-CPX provides the essential data you need at a price you can afford.

VOCO-CPX Features

Rugged, and designed for virtually any indoor our outdoor activity, the VOCO-CPX measures metabolic performance almost anywhere. Simple calibration of all sensors takes seconds, and periodic autocalibration ensures accuracy even in changing environmental conditions. Q-Track is the first wearable CPX device to provide all the data from a metabolic cart system in an ergonomic wearable package.

Intuitive and Powerful Software

VOCO-CPX software provides all the data collected by far more expensive systems. Parameter data are calculated and displayed automatically, however it also provides raw data for further manipulation, if required. Data sets and reports are displayed on separate pages for ease of use and navigation.

Pulmonary Function Testing

Like cardiovascular fitness, healthy lung function is critical to fitness and athletic performance The Q-Track is supplied with a pneumotach spirometer that can be used with the CPX system or independently for pulmonary function testing.

How it Works

Humans need oxygen to produce energy during the aerobic metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Quite simply, the more O2 consumed, the more carbohydrate and fat is burned and more energy is produced. Therefore, we can measure energy production by measuring the rate at which the body consumes oxygen. The O2 consumption rate is termed VO2.  Since VO2 is associated directly with carbohydrate and fat oxidation, we can calculate precise calorific value of the substrates burned during rest and exercise.

By measuring O2 consumption and CO2 production simultaneously we can monitor:

  • VO2 and VCO2 as indices of fitness level.

  • The calorific value of substrates consumed during exercise.

  • The type of substrate being metabolised (carbohydrate or fat).

  • The point at which anaerobic respiration is activated to supplement aerobic respiration.
