LEYBOLD – Michelson Laser Interferometer with Fringe Counter and Motorized Displacement

Product Code: LD-MI

The setup of the famous Michelson interferometer is accomplished by modern modules and components. A two mode Helium Neon laser is used as a light source.

The contrast function is measured for different path lengths. From these results the coherence length of the probe laser is determined. The interference fringes are either displayed by the translucent white screen or their intensity is measured by means of a photodector. Its signals are shown on the oscilloscope.

By adding a variety of technical components the interferometer can be upgraded to a technical interferometer, e.g. to train the calibration of CNC machines.
